Interpreting Technology

Interpretation technology can be niche. Movements may have to search beyond their normal sphere of planning to prepare for a multilingual event. Below, you can review different options to find the one that meets your needs and your budget.

Note: These technologies allow for simultaneous interpretation. What you gain in time, however, comes at a monetary cost to either buy or hire the sound set-up and devices required for simultaneous interpretation. Beyond technology, there are also infrastructure needs to be met (see Booths & Infrastructure below). It is also important to keep in mind that customs protocols can complicate technology acquisition.

Although we do not have Solidarity Interpretation Technology collectives in South Asia as yet, SASI has given some thought to how interpretation technology can be organized, handled and managed across social movements. Anyone interested in partnering on this is welcome to contact us.
